Measure on a level surface
Use a tape measure without compressing the insert. Record each measurement in the same units as the listing. Include the thickness of mattress accessories when considering fitted sheet depth.
Allow for the way you make the bed
A flat sheet needs the overhang and tuck you prefer. A duvet cover should match the intended insert rather than simply the mattress label. Pillow fullness changes the visual effect of a case; compare actual dimensions before choosing.
